What Do Drywood Termite Alates Look Like?
**If you think you are seeing winged termites, save a sample, and call us. We will send out a CA state licensed inspector to identify, asses the problem, and offer all possible solutions.
In General:
- All Termite Alates will have a black tubular body and four equally sized wings longer than the body.
Differences:
- Subterranean Termite Alates = Black Head
- Drywood Termite Alates = Red Head
SUBTERRANEAN TERMITE EVIDENCE
The picture is an example of Subterranean termite mud tubing that was found in a home when the owner removed baseboard.
If you are remodeling or cleaning around your home and see mud tubing like this, or mud in between building framing members, call for inspection. Most likely you have or had subterranean termites and a licensed state inspector should asses the structure and any possible infestation.
